Privacy Policy
Math Factlings: Math Facts Adventure collects nothing. No account, no ads, no tracking, no analytics — everything your child does stays on your device.

Who we are
Math Factlings: Math Facts Adventure (the “App”) is developed and published by Austin App Solutions LLC, based in St. Louis, Missouri, United States (“Austin App Solutions,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy explains how the App handles information. It applies to the Math Factlings app for iPhone, iPad, and Android devices, and to no other product.
The App is designed for children in grades K–5 and is intended to be purchased, installed, and set up by a parent or guardian.
Information we collect
We do not collect any personal information. We operate no servers that receive data from the App, and the App makes no network requests to us or to anyone else. Nothing your child types, taps, says, or earns in the App is transmitted to us, and we have no ability to see it.
Information stored on your device
The App stores the following on your device so that it can work and remember your child's progress. This information stays on the device, is never uploaded to us, and is not accessible to us:
- Child profile details — the first name or nickname you enter, the avatar you choose, and the grade level you select.
- Practice and progress data — questions answered, correct and incorrect responses, response times, fact-by-fact mastery, streaks, and session history.
- Collection and reward data — the Factlings your child has collected and their progress toward new ones.
- App settings — the practice options, input mode, and other preferences you choose for each child.
You choose what goes into a child profile. A nickname or first initial works just as well as a full name, and the App never asks for a last name, birth date, photograph, address, or contact information.
If you use your device's backup features — iCloud Backup or a computer backup on an Apple device, or Android's backup service on an Android device — your device may include the App's data in that backup. Those backups are created and controlled by Apple or Google under your device settings and your store account, and are governed by their privacy policies — not by us.
Microphone and speech recognition
The App offers an optional voice input mode so a child can answer a math problem out loud. If you or your child turns it on, your device will ask for permission to use the microphone and speech recognition. When that mode is active, audio is used for one purpose only: to recognize the spoken answer to the math problem on screen.
- Audio is not recorded, saved, or stored by the App.
- Audio is never sent to us, and we never receive transcripts, recordings, or any other voice data.
- The App does not perform speech recognition itself. It uses the speech recognition built into your device's operating system — Apple's on an iPhone or iPad, and the device's speech recognition service, usually Google's, on an Android device.
- How that recognition works depends on your device. Depending on the device, its operating system version, and your settings, spoken audio may be processed on the device itself or sent to Apple or Google for recognition. That processing is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy or Google's Privacy Policy, not by this policy, and we neither control nor receive anything from it.
- Voice input is entirely optional. Multiple-choice and keyboard input are always available, and you can revoke microphone or speech recognition permission at any time in your device's Settings app. If you would rather no audio leave the device at all, use multiple-choice or keyboard input instead.
Children's privacy
Because the App collects no personal information from anyone, it collects no personal information from children. We do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal information from children under 13, and there is nothing in the App that transmits a child's information anywhere.
We designed the App to meet the expectations of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), Apple's requirements for apps made for children, and Google Play's Families policy:
- No accounts, sign-ins, registration, or personal information requests.
- No third-party advertising of any kind — no banners, interstitials, rewarded videos, or pop-ups.
- No third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs.
- No social features, no chat, no user-to-user communication, and no user-generated content shared outside the device.
- No external links, promotions, or purchase prompts in the kid-facing experience.
- A parent gate protects settings, profile management, and any adult-facing area.
If you believe a child has somehow provided us with personal information, contact us using the details at the end of this policy and we will address it promptly.
Third parties and advertising
The App contains no third-party advertising networks, analytics providers, attribution or tracking services, social media SDKs, or other third-party data collection tools. We do not allow anyone to collect data about your child through the App, because no such collection takes place.
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share personal information, and we do not use personal information for targeted or behavioral advertising. We have no personal information to use for those purposes.
Because the App shares no user data with anyone, there is no third party that receives it. If that ever changed, we would describe the change on this page before it took effect, and we would require any third party with whom the App shared user data — including any analytics tool, advertising network, third-party SDK, or any parent, subsidiary, or related entity — to provide the same or equal protection of user data as this policy states and as Apple's App Store guidelines require.
Purchases
Math Factlings is a one-time paid download from the Apple App Store or Google Play. There is no subscription and no in-app purchase. Your purchase is handled entirely by the store and tied to your Apple Account or Google Account — we never see or receive your payment details, such as your credit card number, billing address, or store account credentials. Apple and Google provide us only with anonymous, aggregated sales and download reports that cannot identify you. Purchases are governed by the terms and privacy policies of the store you bought from: Apple's Privacy Policy or Google's Privacy Policy.
Apple's and Google's roles
Math Factlings is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play, runs on Apple's and Google's operating systems, and uses the platform's built-in speech recognition if you turn voice input on. Anything Apple or Google collects through your store account, your device, the store itself, or their own features is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy or Google's Privacy Policy and their respective terms, not by this policy. We do not control their practices and are not responsible for them.
Austin App Solutions is an independent developer and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Apple Inc. or Google LLC.
How long data is kept, and how to delete it
Because all App data lives on your device, you control it completely:
- Delete one child's data — open settings (tap the settings wheel and answer the Grown-Ups Only math problem), tap Manage Children, and remove that profile.
- Delete everything — delete the App from your device. All profiles, progress, and collection data are removed with it.
We keep no copies, because we never receive any data in the first place. Deleted data cannot be recovered by us or by you, so remove a profile only when you're sure.
You can withdraw a permission you previously granted at any time: open your device's Settings app, find Math Factlings, and turn off microphone or speech recognition access. The App keeps working with multiple-choice and keyboard input. There is no other consent to revoke, because there is no other data collection to consent to.
Data security
App data is stored in the App's private storage area on your device and is protected by the security features built into iOS and Android, including the device passcode and encryption protections you have enabled. Keeping your device updated and passcode-protected is the most effective way to protect that data.
Because we hold no data on our end, there is no server of ours to breach. We cannot, however, guarantee the security of your device itself. No method of electronic storage is completely secure, and anyone with access to an unlocked device can open the App and see what is in it. Securing the device — passcode, Face ID or Touch ID, software updates, and Screen Time restrictions — is your responsibility, and we are not responsible for access that results from a lost, shared, jailbroken, or otherwise unsecured device.
Your responsibilities as a parent or guardian
You decide what goes into the App. Please use a first name, nickname, or initial for a child profile, and do not enter a full legal name, birth date, contact information, health information, or anything else sensitive — the App never asks for any of it and does not need it. If you choose to enter such information anyway, it stays on your device, and it is yours to manage.
You are also responsible for supervising your child's use of the App and of the device it runs on, for deciding whether voice input is appropriate for your child, and for keeping your own device backups. Because we receive nothing, we cannot recover a profile, restore progress, or retrieve anything that is deleted or lost.
Your privacy rights
Privacy laws such as the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA (CCPA/CPRA), and similar U.S. state laws give you rights to access, correct, delete, and port your personal information, to know whether it is sold or shared, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.
We honor those rights fully, and in our case they are simple to satisfy: we hold no personal information about you or your child, so there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, export, or delete on our end, and nothing that we sell or share. The data on your device is yours to view or delete at any time inside the App. If you would like to exercise a privacy right or ask a question about this, contact us using the details below and we will respond.
International users
The App works the same way everywhere: data stays on your device and is not transferred to us or across borders by the App. Austin App Solutions LLC is based in the United States. If you contact us by email, that message is processed in the United States.
Scope of this policy
This policy covers the Math Factlings app only. It does not cover our other apps, our website, the Apple App Store, Google Play, or any other product, service, or website, each of which is governed by its own terms and policies. It describes how the App works as of the effective date above.
This policy is part of, and should be read with, the Math Factlings Terms of Use. The disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing-law provisions in those Terms apply to this policy as well. Nothing here limits any right you have under applicable law that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the App handles information, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Material changes will also be reflected in our store listings and, where appropriate, in the App itself. Because the App collects nothing today, any future change that involved data collection would be described here clearly and in plain language before it took effect.
